Dennis the Menace

There’s no denying it, last Sunday was a wet one. But come rain, sleet or snow Re:Fuel will always be open on the third Sunday of every month. After witnessing the carnage on the roads first-hand on Saturday, we wondered how many visitors we’d have this month. But Storm Dennis (the Menace) wasn’t strong enough to defeat the spirit and enthusiasm of Re:Fuelers; we had cars parked at the gate to get in at 9am and even had a half-full venue at one point. We love you guys!

The first car through the gates was Re:Fuel regular, Ian, and his son in their Focus ST170 – greeted by our wonderful Re:Fuel team who were stood out in the cold welcoming them with smiles and cheer. The vintage, classic and exotic treats weren’t able to venture out since the the road conditions were more suitable for hovercraft’s than cars. However, whilst Re:Fuel was much quieter than usual, it was heart warming to see the number of visitors who still came along and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Undoubtedly, many of our visitors had ventured out in the storm conditions because they just couldn’t go without their cooked breakfasts! We’re reliably informed that the all-day breakfasts (including a veggie option) served up at Re:Fuel by the fantastic Mansell Raceway Restaurant are becoming rather legendary! Our staff working outside were certainly envious of our visitors keeping warm up in the cosy restaurant with their breakfast and a cup of coffee, having a chat with fellow enthusiasts.

Vospers Ford were also in attendance, as the official sponsors of the American Assembly. The majority of vehicles in the Assembly were American dailies, so it was amusing to compare this to what the Europeans classify as a daily driver! Vospers brought along a V8 Mustang Convertible and a new Ranger Raptor pick-up for us to have a look at; both very impressive machines that we noticed our visitors enjoyed having a poke around!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along on Sunday, and a special appreciation to @vospers.ford for bringing along some very fun toys for us all to enjoy. But don’t worry, if you missed Vospers in February they will be back in March as our official sponsor for the Hot Hatch Display! We’ll see you there.
